Wildcard By: Marie Lu

If you could ask the author/illustrator of this book one question, what would it be, and why?

I would ask the author of Wildcard how she constructed the complex virtual reality in her series. In the book, the main character, Emika Chen, spends a fair amount of time in a game called Warcross, a complexe form of virtual reality. While reading the book, I often wondered how the author created the sophisticated game. Is it based off of her experiences in life or something completely made up that she has never seen anything related to? I was fascinating by all the different elements of the technology of Warcross and am very curious to find out how Marie Lu came up with the futuristic game. From generating random faces to simulating entire tundras, Warcross never ceased to amaze me. Wildcard is a great book full of surprises far beyond our time.
