Would you recommend this book? If so, who would you recommend it to, and why? If not, why not?
Symptoms of Being Human by Jeff Garvin is a thought-provoking book about closeted gender fluid teenager Riley, and their struggle to come out to believe in themselves, and come out. It is a very interesting read that exposes a part of the LGBTQ+ community that doesn’t usually get talked about. All the characters, but Riley in particular, are written very relatably, even though, in actuality, I haven’t ever experienced anything closed to anything Riley has. The whole book was very well written and describes gender fluidity in- what I thought- was very realistic light. Overall, I would recommend the book to anyone who wanted to learn more about the LGBTQ+ community, or was just looking for a good book.
