The sweet and far thing by Libby Bray

If you could rewrite one part of the story, what would you change?

Read: ‘A great and Terrible Beauty’ and ‘The Tevel Angels’ first.
The beginning of the book was thrilling, arguments that threaten to break friendships, bits of magic here and there, sneaking out at night. As the book goes on, it simply overwhelms you with mysteries. But as it approaches the end and the great battle takes place in the Winterlands, the book finishes into a slows down dramatically, which makes it seem like the 820 pages are kind of a waste, even though this book was a great book.

If you were written into this book, what would your role be, and why?

I love this book! It is a follow-up to the book: Making Bombs for Hitler by the same author and I love it so much! This main character appeared in Making Bombs for Hitler and now is the star of the War Below. Luka, is trying to locate his closest friends and family. He starts by escaping from his brutal labor camp and then faces many challenges within his story. I am so very proud of Luka and I am sad to finish the book as well as I am happy to have read the end. If I were written into this book I would be the main medic (Vera in the book). She is so brave and is faced with healing dying soldiers and people that she has to watch die. It is great to see that World War II has ended and we are not in the misdt of a war right this second.

Making Bombs for Hitler by Marsha Skrypuch

Would you recommend this book? If so, who would you recommend it to, and why? If not, why not?

Making Bombs for Hitler is hands down my favorite book on the world. It drags so much emotion, love, and depression in to reading. It is set in the time of World War II. Since, I first read this book I have been obsessed with other World War II books and I love almost all of the other World War II books that I read. Making Bombs for Hitler, describes her life without her beloved family members and friends, labor camp work and hardships along with the battle to finding her long lost sister. Lida (the main character is so nice and I wish I could meet her. I would definitly reccomend this book!
