Hey, Kiddo By Jarrett Krosoczka

What would you like to tell us about the book?

I read this graphic novel because I had to for school, but I ended up liking it a lot. The subtitle of this book is “How I Lost My Mother, Found My Father, and Dealt With Family Addiction”, to give you a taste of what this book is about. The mood of this book is not very happy, but more somber. The colors used are mostly grey and a dark orange, creating a more serious tone in the drawings as well as the words. It talks about the author’s childhood, growing up with his grandparents instead of his mother, who suffers from drug addiction. I loved this book because of the writing and art that together make an interesting and important story.
